The former stock exchange building and the Cirio

De CirioDe Cirio

If you only have a little time and still want to sniff in a hint of art nouveau, then quickly drink a “half and half”, the specialty of the house, in the Cirio.
The Italian Francesco Cirio founded a shop and consumer room here in 1886 with Italian specialities. Today Le Cirio is a vibrant Art Nouveau brasserie. Jacques Brel also liked to come here …

The former Brussels Stock Exchange building is located right next to the Cirio. It is an eclectic exhibition building, built between 1868 and 1873 by architect Léon-Pierre Suys. The sculpture was carried out by Auguste Rodin, among others. In these times, the Exhibition is primarily a meeting place (stairs) and place for events. Nowadays exhibitions are held in the building. There are plans to make here a beer temple.
